MIREN DE ABIEGA AND LORENZA PRIETO FOR LUCIOLA

MIREN DE ABIEGA AND LORENZA PRIETO FOR LUCIOLA

Art and Photography, Mexico.

Miren studied photography at Speos in Paris and took summer courses in photography at Central Saint Martins in London. She has worked as an editorial and photography intern for Esquire Magazine in Mexico and is currently studying Modern and Contemporary Art at culture center Casa Lamm in Mexico City.

Miren admires photographers Helmut Newton, Graciela Iturbide, Sophie Calle, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Paolo Roversi and Massimo Vitali. Her days start with cup of coffee and she never goes to work without her computer. She loves yoga, sketching and collecting art books.

Lorenza has a degree in textile design from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She spent a semester studying at FIT in New York and later took several courses at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She worked with Mexican designers JI+B and was the assistant buyer for men’s contemporary apparel in Saks Mexico.

Lorenza´s main purpose as a photographer is to express herself through her work. She never leaves home without her pen and Moleskin notebook. She admires photographers Richard Misrach and Sally Mann. Double exposure, black and white and light painting photography inspire her.

In 2012 Miren and Lorenza created Luciola, a project that offers photography portfolios. Their products can be created in any type of material and size depending on the clients’ requirements. Recently, Luciola was invited to exhibit at the “Affordable Art Fair” in Mexico City. Their first collection sold out quickly to different venues like fashion showrooms, restaurants and decorative projects. Don’t waste time and take a look at their work at luciola.com.mx
