Mariangeles Reygadas, fashion editor at L’Officiel Mexico has a bachelor’s degree in fashion design by Centro. While still at college she launched a ready-to-wear brand named Buen Ojo with her classmate and close friend, Pamela Gonzalez. She collaborated in the first editions of Elle Mexico Diseña and was the fashion coordinator at Elle Mexico for a long time.
Her greatest passion is fashion. She loves learning the history and dedication behind every talent, design, project and fashion campaign. She believes everything involved with fashion has a creative mind behind it, making of it one of the most powerful industries. For Mariangeles, art is a way of expressing oneself and fashion is exactly that. “Fashion is the result of combining an artist’s ideology, perception and taste,” she said. She believes blogs are some of the most intimate perceptions of fashion. “A blogger’s success depends entirely on their authenticity,” she said. “They’ve become an important part of the fashion universe because they’re not just bloggers anymore. They’re critics and they usually have important points of view.”
She loves accessories and we know why. She has the most astonishing pieces, which belonged to her grandmother. She strongly believes in the new approach that Mexican designer Franciso Cancinos for Yakampot has and what she enjoys the most about her job is taking readers to different places through storytelling. The oldest item in her closet are her white Converse tennis shoes and it’s likely they’ll stay there for a while. The next piece she’s adding to her wardrobe is the Céline Phantom bag.
Mariangeles has become an important leader within the fashion world. Her looks are constantly captivating people and she has a gift for hunting incredible talents and new trends. But it’s been her work as a stylist for a variety of editorial shootings what makes her so unique and one of the most promising editors in the industry. Fashion icons Emmanuel alt, Jane Birkins and Freja Beha are styles that inspire her. She enjoys having brunch at The Breakfast in La Roma and her mom is her biggest inspiration and life example.
The Fancy Archive celebrates Mariangeles’ incredible work, her strong voice and amazing storytelling ability within the fashion-publishing world. Follow her work, as we’re sure we’ll constantly hear great things about this talented editor.
