Josefono L Telefono, producer and DJ, has been in the music industry for quite a while; he started singing and playing drums, guitar, piano and bass. He has an Associate Science degree in Music Production and Engineering (Recording Arts) from Full Sail University. His passion toward the DJ Industry started since college. “Some of my fellow colleagues at Full Sail happened to be DJs”, he said. “Hence, I was influenced by them and I started my incursion in this profession”. As a DJ, Josefono has played at some of the most recognized venues in Mexico, US, Japan, and Germany. He had the opportunity to sound design and musicalize the internationally awarded documentary México Pelágico (Director award, in the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival; Audience award in the category of Environmental Film, in the Vail Film Festival; and Bronze Palm, in the Mexico International Film Festival). In 2008, he played with Jackie’O at the Vive Latino music festival.
“I fell in love with music when I was a child”, he said. “I consider music as one of the purest and most direct perception of art, to communicate with others”. One of his purposes as a DJ is to spread the music that he loves and make people move to the beat. His inspiration most of the times pops out with the drums, and his creative process usually begins either with the drums (beat) or with an idea he has on the bass or the guitar.
Two of his icons are Frankie Knuckles and the Japanese architect Tadao Ando; his favorite boutique is Aviator Nation; the next concert he will attend to will be Foals; and the book he has read more tan twice is The Dirt, by Mötley Crüe.
He shared with us a quote that says: “Music is the only thing that will never leave you alone”. House, Indie Dance/Nu Disco and pop are styles that influence his creative process. The last track he listened to was Leather Face, by Odd Parents, and the first music festival he attended to was Coachella.
He is currently working on the music and sound design for Vogue I. Josefono is a trending topic and The Fancy Archive applauds his amazing talent.
