Ana Hop has a bachelor’s degree in Communications by Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a major in photography by Central Saint Martins in London. Her natural and innate talent behind the lenses gave her the opportunity to work in editorials such as National Geographic Traveler, ELLE, Glamour, Esquire, Gatopardo, among others. She is currently the editor of SOHO, a men’s magazine from Editorial Televisa.
She says that working is important but that finding time to pursue personal projects is what makes her better everyday. She has never stopped freelancing as a photographer. At the moment she collaborates for the Freunde von Freunde project in Berlin, fashion campaigns for designers like Ali Rascon and the look book for Baule. She is also a key component in an upcoming book on Mexican Contemporary painters as a portrait photographer, but besides her usual work in the editorial field, Ana has her own project “People you may know”; a blog where she shares portraits of interesting people.
“As a photographer I want to tell stories, meet people from all around the world and go to places that normally I wouldn’t get to go,” she said. “I love fashion photography,” she said. She is a huge admirer of SHOWstudio.com director Nick Knight and loves fashion photographer Helmut Newton’s work.
Her camera is something she simply can’t live without. She takes it with her everywhere she goes. And we know why – she can do magic with it. So don’t stay behind and enjoy her art while still getting to know fascinating people from around the world through her blog at http://anahop.tumblr.com/
