Born in Mexico City, Diego Winburn grew up with an irrevocable passion for magic. The Mexican Mentalist hosts events for thousands of people all around the World. He has dominated the art of levitation, walking over water, and other challenges that require supreme concentration.
We wanted to know everything there is to know about Diego Winburn, we are so intrigued with this guy! So in order to understand his journey we asked him how he got to where he is today…”From a young age I was always interested in the powers of the mind, our thoughts and intentions. Once I found the world of Mentalism, Illusionism and Hypnotism I became obsessed with these practices and devoted my life to them”. In his everyday life he enjoys a good book, listening to his favorite music, rock climbing, paragliding, and of course, traveling all over the world!
So what is his purpose as a Magician? “I want to bring out the childlike sense of wonder out of people; to remind them that everything is possible and hopefully inspire them to go out there and look at the world in new creative ways”, he said.
He is currently fascinated by Anish Kapoor’s work; he loves how he plays with objects, perceptions, the use of colors and depth.
We wanted to know more about his fascinating line of work, so we kept asking about new fun projects within the industry. He did not hesitate to tell us about his new telepathy act and his new one-hour hypnosis show. I guess we are going to have to buy tickets to see it in order to believe it!
Las but not least, we asked Diego how Mexico is contributing to the art scenes around the world. “I feel Mexico right now really allows for new talent to flourish. Mexico has become a space where new ideas are being embraced and supported. There are a lot of untouched territories for artists to explore, especially in my field: The Magical Arts. Mexico has become the perfect ground for me to share my passion which hasn’t been seen much in this country, leaving plenty of opportunities for me to create successful projects”, he admitted.
