Dalia Schwartzman is the graphic designer behind the New York-based brand Spenglish – a brand that presents trendy, chic, sophisticated and elegant designs that celebrate the Latin spirit. She is also the founder and writer of the Skirt Sorbet: a blog that shares the trendiest, most delicious, fashion-forward and unique places in New York.

“I’m a free spirited woman and I can’t be stuck behind a desk,” she said. “I love to work as a freelance graphic designer, so I can be the boss of my own time.” Dalia drinks green juice, is reading Just Kids by Patti Smith and listens to Mumford and Sons. She is constantly on the hunt for the perfect slouchy white t-shirt and likes to mix patterns and textures. Her hair is long, flowing and sun-kissed and her look always includes layers of jewelry. When we asked her to describe her style, “Luxe Bohemian” was the answer.

For her, fashion is a form of expression. “It’s a way to transmit your feelings and thoughts,” she said. “When you combine style with emotions, you create authentic pieces that have a personality of their own.” She explained how people are not born with style genes. “Style is acquired and it evolves so that it ends up being a way of life,” she said. “The incredible power of it is that it can be transmitted to the world through fashion.”

Dalia admires Jenna Lyons, J.Crew’s creative director, not only for her incredible style, but also for her hard work. “She began as an intern at J.Crew and ended up becoming their creative director,” she said. And we agree. She has become one of the most respected women within the fashion industry.

The oldest piece in Dalia’s closet is her grandmas’ Chanel bag and her most recent crush is with Rozae Nichols’ prints and patterns. Rozae is the designer behind the Clover Canyon.

Dalia assures bloggers are one of the most important influencers in the fashion industry. “Through their blogs and photos people can read what is the newest trend and people can even find out where to purchase most of the items,” she said. She also believes that the uniqueness of a blogger is that you get to know them at a personal level. Chiara Ferragni´s blog “The Blonde Salad” is one she constantly consults.

Because of her exquisite style and an unstoppable curiosity to hunt the best place of the moment, The Fancy Archive encourages all of you to follow Dalia’s tips and reviews. When it comes to food and fashion, she absolutely knows what she is talking about.
